Law enforcement guidelines
How we respond to legal requests · last updated July 2026
ClickShadchan takes the privacy of the people who use our service seriously. We also respect the important work of law enforcement. These guidelines explain how government and law enforcement agencies can request information from us, and what we require before we will disclose anything.
Where to send legal process
Requests for user information, and all legal process (subpoenas, court orders, search warrants, and preservation requests), should be sent to info@clickshadchan.org with “Law Enforcement Request” in the subject line. A mailing address for service is available on request to that address. Please include a return email and a direct contact for the requesting officer or agency.
What we require
We disclose user information only when we are legally required to, and only to the extent required. The legal process we require depends on the information sought:
- Basic subscriber and account records: a valid subpoena or equivalent legal process.
- Non-content records: a court order or equivalent.
- The contents of communications or the most sensitive personal data: a valid search warrant issued on probable cause, or its equivalent under applicable law.
Every request must be lawful, properly issued by an authority with jurisdiction, and specific — we do not honor overly broad or unclear requests, and we may object to or narrow requests that reach further than the law allows.
Emergencies
If we receive a request from a law enforcement official stating that there is an emergency involving a danger of death or serious physical injury to a person, we may provide information necessary to prevent that harm, consistent with applicable law. Emergency requests should be clearly marked as such and sent to the address above.
Notice to our users
Our policy is to notify a user before disclosing their information so they have an opportunity to object, unless we are prohibited by law from doing so (for example, by a court order), or in an emergency involving a risk to someone's safety.
Data preservation
On receipt of a valid preservation request, we will preserve available account records for a limited period while formal legal process is obtained, as required by applicable law.
Information we may hold
We are a private matchmaking service. The information associated with an account may include the details a member provided (such as name, contact information, and profile details) and basic account activity. Some fields are shared only with a member's chosen matchmakers and are never shown to other members; see our Privacy page for how information is handled.
These guidelines are provided for transparency and do not waive any legal objection or right available to ClickShadchan or its users. This is a plain-language summary; it is not legal advice.
